Local volunteering

Eliminating housing poverty, one home at a time

Become a volunteerAt Habitat for Humanity Malawi, we believe that everyone deserves a safe and decent place to live, and volunteers are at the heart of making this vision a reality. Our local volunteering program offers meaningful opportunities for individuals and groups to help build homes, strengthen communities, and improve lives across Malawi, while actively engaging in sustainable development efforts. Volunteers contribute in many ways beyond construction. From building and painting homes to supporting community development projects, disaster risk reduction initiatives, and advocacy efforts that promote decent shelter as a basic human right, every role matters. Volunteers with specialized skills can also support our internal operations by working with departments such as administration, communications, and project coordination. This flexible approach ensures that everyone can contribute in a way that matches their abilities and interests. We welcome volunteers from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference. Individuals aged 15 and above can participate in selected, supervised activities, while those aged 18 and above can fully engage across all programs. Apart from specialized roles, no prior experience is required. You can join as an individual or as part of a group Including youth groups, corporate teams, and community organizations.Get in touch
